Biography

The Bohemes are a young, freewheeling Dutch indie-band well on their way to earn their own place in the world of music.
Influences date back to the England of the 60’s and 70’s – The Beatles, but also to mod bands such as The Small Faces, the Kinks and The Jam - and stretch right through the 80’s of The Smiths into a more modern scene with The Libertines and Babyshambles.

Catchy tunes and spot-on lyrics bring you into the land of The Bohemes and add to an arsenal of songs that guarantee a tornado of sound and an energetic set.

In September 2009 they take a short break from an almost non-stop playing schedule to record their first EP in the Sahara Sound Studios with Natascha van Waardenburg (Appie Kim) and Henk Koorn (Hallo Venray). ‘I, Boheme’ contains “five uptempo Britpop songs of high musical quality” (Dutch Popmagazine LiveXS , L. De Jongh).

In December The Bohemes were one of two bands filmed for an online TV show made for KinkFM.

In January they were chosen ‘Local Heroes’ of January/February by pop-magazine LiveXS.

In spring 2010 The Bohemes will support Dutch indie-band ‘Bettie Serveert’ on their tour of Holland. The tour, to promote the new album ‘Pharmacy of Love’, will take the bands to all major Dutch stages.
